The Báb is the title of the Forerunner of Bahá’u’lláh. When He was born He was given the name Siyyid ‘Ali Mohammad Shirázi. He was born in 1819 and was martyred in 1850 in Irán. His work as a Manifestation of God lasted for six years. He wrote hundreds of books in Persian and Arabic. Some of His Writings are translated into English. Through His Writings He helped get people ready for the coming of Bahá’u’lláh.
