Unity in Diversity (Portuguese)

Unidade na Diversidade

This brightly illustrated picture book contains five simple stories for young readers. They foster an understanding of the oneness of the human race and celebrate its diversity within that unity.

Likening the human race to various coloured cotton in a woven cloth, various fruits on the tree of life, stars in the heavens, members of one body, and different notes in one perfect chord, the stories use the concrete to teach the abstract.

Young readers will enjoy the bright colours and simple text as they develop their understanding of the unity and diversity of the human race.

History of the stories
These stories were originally written in Tetum (the language of East Timor) for use in spiritual education classes for children. The theme of the oneness of humanity and the celebration of the unity in diversity of the human race is central to all Bahá’íeducational endeavours. It is taught from the earliest years in children’s lives. These books were developed during the four years that the author lived in East Timor, to serve as instruments in those important educational processes.
