If you desire to be one of those Bahá'ís who can tell the stories of the Central Figures, here is a clear, and easily readable account of the life of the Báb.

The narrative traces the Báb’s life from his childhood in Shíráz through his youth, marriage and the momentous night he proclaimed his mission to Mullá Husayn—an event he foretold would one day be celebrated as a great festival. As his disciples carried the news across Persia, clergy and officials rose against him: he was banished from Shíráz, then imprisoned by a jealous Grand Vizier. Despite these obstacles, followers continued to flock to him. The account includes the Letters of the Living, the Conference of Badasht, the sieges of Shaykh Tabarsí, Nayríz and Zanján, and the Báb’s trial and martyrdom in Tabríz, where 750 rifles blotted out the sun.

A companion to Day of Glory, about the life of Bahá’u’lláh, and Servant of the Glory, about the life of ‘Abdu’l-Bahá.
