Seven Valleys

The Seven Valleys was revealed in the late 1850s by Bahá'u'lláh, the prophet-founder of the Bahá'i Faithwhen he returned to Baghdád after a two-year retreat in the mountains. The subject is essentially timeless and placeless, the inner verities of religion. It is a mystical description of the soul's journey through seven stages of inner transformation from the abode of self to the realms of nearness to God.

The illustrations by Corinne Randall assist the reader to meditate in greater depth on the mood of each chapter and express the deeply expansive creative potential of the Word of God.

About Corinne Randall (illustrator)

Corinne Randall’s love for colour, pattern and texture emerged during her study of printed textiles. After becoming a Bahá’í she was inspired to create artwork which communicated the transformative power of the Word of God. Her paintings range from expressionist landscapes to purely abstract compositions where colour is free to evoke the inner language of the soul.

First published by Intellect Books, Corinne's wide range of highly-illustrated titles illuminate the Bahá’í writings and other spiritual and enlightening quotations with her art. Her aim is to use the art to reflect the beauty of the words and encourage the reader to focus more deeply on the layers of meaning contained within.

Her most recent project is a series of children’s picture story books in which each character turns its weakness into a strength.
