This book contains the history surrounding the revelation of each of the 166 sections of Baha'u'llah's Writings (where available),providing relevant content from both the sacred and authoritative text of Baha’u’llah, ‘Abdu’l-Bahá, and Shoghi Effendi ⏤ drawing from passages from over fifty Baha'i books and publications, the Bible and the Quran, including twenty-seven letters written on behalf of Shoghi Effendi answering interpretively the questions of believers who inquired about the meaning of passages in Gleanings.

Shoghi Effendi, the Guardian of the Baha’i Faith characterised the importance of Gleanings from the Writings of Baha’u’llah in a letter written on his behalf dated January 28, 1936. He stated that Gleanings “should be the continued guide and companion of every believer, especially those who are actively engaged in teaching the Cause.”

The author has spent thirty years of arduous research compiling this study with the hope that the vision for the text of Shoghi Effendi might be further realised.
