These 144 captivating anecdotes transport readers to pivotal moments in Bahá’u’lláh’s earthly life—across Iran, Baghdad, Constantinople, Adrianople, ʻAkká and Bahjí—offering effortless, delightful remembrance that uplifts both heart and mind. While Western believers seldom trace their lineage to a direct witness of the Founder, many Eastern Bahá’ís preserve intimate memories passed down by relatives who experienced His majesty, compassion, humility and humour. Recognising that so few of these firsthand accounts had been recorded, the Hand of the Cause ʻAlí-Akbar Furútán embarked in 1975 on a rigorous project: gathering hundreds of memoirs, published and in manuscript, and corresponding with surviving companions to curate the most vivid and instructive stories for posterity.

A resident of the Bahá’í World Centre from 1957 until his passing in 2003, Furútán served first as one of the nine Custodians and later as a member of the International Teaching Centre. His dedication to preserving these personal narratives ensures that each precious glimpse of Bahá’u’lláh’s presence endures for future generations.

The day is approaching when God will have raised up a people who will call to remembrance Our days — Bahá'u'lláh.
