Life and Times of The Báb
for youth and adults

The Báb is the title of the Forerunner of Bahá’u’lláh. His given name was Siyyid ‘Ali Mohammad Shirázi. He was born in 1819 and was killed in 1850 in what is now Irán. In the six years of His Ministry He revealed thousands of verses in Persian and Arabic, a small fraction of which is translated into English. He prepared the populations of His time for the imminent declaration of the Supreme Manifestation of God – Bahá’u’lláh, fostering spiritual and moral reformation, including radical improvements in the position of women and the poor.
